Dear Mr. Grinstein,

We the undersigned corporations and institutions, current and prospective customers, write to thank Delta Air Lines for not caving into the impulses of some of its competitors in pursuing misguided policies of channel discrimination and content fragmentation, and specifically for not imposing new segment fees.

Both we and the travel management companies (TMCs), upon which we depend, need to be able to choose where to shop for and book our travel, i.e. our preferred GDSs. For our companies, it is imperative that we have all the content, all the time, in our chosen GDS. We therefore encourage you to promptly conclude long-term content arrangements with all the GDSs.

To be clear, fragmentation creates inefficiency and undermines adherence to our corporate policies, especially as our employees and our TMCs are forced to access fares only listed on supplier web sites. As recent events in the UK show, and as was recently reported in The Wall Street Journal, it is imperative for corporations to know where their travelers are and how to contact them in a time of crisis.

Customer focus is the key to success in any business, and is certainly required in your relationships with corporate customers. Delta has an opportunity to solidify its favorable image with corporations by holding the line both against discrimination and fragmentation as well as against segment fees that would add significantly to the cost of air travel.
